Hi,
As mentioned on my previous blog I setup a disposable camera on a bench in Kelvingrove Park at 5pm on 11/04 and returned at the same time on 12/04 to collect it.

Next stop, Prague!
Best Wishes,

Yesterday at 5pm I setup a disposable camera on a bench in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.

Today, I beat the refreshing April shower and collected the camera shortly after 5pm. I was so happy that nobody had stolen or damaged the camera, instead they took 27 exposures. The reason I chose Kelvingrove Park is that I wanted somewhere that changes dramatically from day to night. During the day you have jugglers, smiling couples, dogs and break dancers, and at night, well I don’t know what you have because I have not ventured in after dark.
I am really excited about the pictures especially after someone wrote on my note, “you should get sound too. 5.30 am birds going bonkers.” It will be interesting to see what they took a photograph of at 5.30 am, and I hoping it will tell us something about why they were in the park at such an early hour.
In other news, a big thank you to photographer and friend Stewart Fullerton who took time out his hectic schedule to take my picture for my new blog banner! When i was trying to describe to Stew what exactly I wanted I found it very difficult to put into words although I could see the photo in my head. Despite this Stew managed to capturing an image that was exactly the same as the one I had envisioned.
I hope you’re all having a nice relaxing long weekend,
Neil Thomas
Hi,
A project I started last year, and I thought I would post it as ‘A Stranger View – Part 2′ is just around the corner.
I set up a disposable camera on a bench on Byers Road in the West End of Glasgow. Next to the disposable camera read a sign, “Hi! If you don’t mind could you please use me to take a picture of anything? My owner will be back later to collect me. Thank you! P.S Don’t steal, I am only a disposable!” I then went away for 5 hours and when I returned I was very happy to see my camera was still there and that all the film had been used up.
The idea was to see how people see the world around them when they’re restricted to a quite uninspiring place.
Thanks to everyone who took a minute out of their lives to stop, think and snap.

Hi,
I am a 20-something freelance photographer from Glasgow.
Capturing the energy of a live music gig, preserving the memories of a magical wedding and daydreaming about love, life and everything in-between is what I do.
I have been doing this for about 4 years now, however I found the glowing warmth of full time employment was having quite the opposite effect by freezing my creativity and passion for photography. Although I still have a type of day job, I actually enjoy it and in January out of the blue I found myself refreshed and bursting with inspiration. This was sudden and I don’t know what happened entirely, but I do know that the wonderful people around me helped me without even being aware of it.
The Scottish art scene is a big inspiration to me. It is booming at the moment and with people like Glasgow PodcART and The Pop Cop it will only get stronger.
Peace,
Neil Thomas Douglas
