A bit of a special blog post today!  As always I will be providing the photographs but I have a guest writer in the form of my fabulous Dad…

“Neil travelled to Dumfries at New Year to catch up with family and friends and when he was in town he took the opportunity to shoot local band The Grumpy Old Men, as they played a sell-out gig in front of over 400 people at The Venue in Dumfries town centre.    http://www.thevenuedumfries.co.uk/

The “Grumpies” are a seven-piece band of “experienced” local musicians who come together several times a year to deliver a blend of rock, blues and soul covers to their appreciative audiences.

There are so many classics on their play list I don’t know where to start, but suffice to say the Venue audience – of all ages-, who were in holiday/party mode, were jumping from the minute the first chord was struck until the last note died away.

A superb early evening of musical nostalgia, delivered in untimely fashion by a very tight band. It is rumoured that 400 letters to Santa have already been written asking for tickets for next year’s event to appear in Christmas stockings……hopefully Neil and I can make the guest list again !

Big thanks to The Grumpy Old Men, my Dad and the people of Dumfries.
